Can I show a film on campus?

This depends on if the film is shown in a classroom or instructional setting. If it is, you most likely can show the film or parts of it to your class. If it is not in the classroom, you probably cannot under the Fair Use guidelines or TEACH Act. General campus events and club activities are not included under Fair Use or the TEACH Act. An exception exists for films for which public performance rights (PPR) have been purchased; the Learning Commons has some DVDs that include PPR.
