Can I make copies of something for my class?

Some small amounts of copying is allowable in the classroom for instruction purposes (if brief and Fair Use provisions are met), however the amount should not exceed more than one copy per student. The law does not give a specific number of pages or amount allowable, only that it needs to be "fair". Do not copy the "heart" of a work. Also be certain to include the copyright notice when copying is done.
